FicoSchmico
I recently looked at my TrueCredit 3-in-1 and I came across this:---Edited to bring back image below---This account is NOT in collection. The OC is still listing this. How do I get EQ fixed while keeping the good status with TU and EX? Should I call the OC and tell them it would be really nice if they fixed their listing with EQ?Do I claim their EQ listing is inaccurate?Stumped Thanks in advance,FS
someonesomewhere
I'm in a similar situation right now. GMAC reports our first vehicle (that's now paid for) as 30 days late in 2004, but only to EX. Account is in good standing on both TU and EQ.Disputed with EX online, but they closed the dispute in a day. Filed another dispute online, and I was more verbose. Checked bank statements, can see automatic drafts every month for the period of time in question. They appear to be spending a bit more time investigating.Going to mail off, via regular mail and not CMRRR, a friendly letter to GMAC. Call it something between goodwill and a dispute. Here it is.**********************************************My wife and I recently pulled all three of our credit reports. GMAC appears to have mistakenly reported this account as 30 days late to Experian. We disputed the account with Experian, but they closed the dispute without checking or there was some problem on their website. In any event, please correctly report this account to Experian--just as it has been reported to the other credit bureaus. We know mistakes happen, and we would simply like this corrected. Both our vehicles were purchased new from Saturn and financed thru GMAC. We have been very happy with both Saturn and GMAC.
FicoSchmico
I wonder if the "Pay Status" section under Equifax that states "...review, or collection" is a VERY negative thing? This is an account with a Credit Union. Again, it's zero balance and it never went to collections. Is it dangerous to contact them and request they fix the Equifax entry? Do I risk having them review ALL of my reported accounts and reports to other CRAs ?Thanks,FS
someonesomewhere
Near the bottom of the TL on EQ, there may be a block labeled "Account History with Status Codes". If so, then there's dates and codes. Codes will be 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, G, H, J, K, L. If you see these codes, then the TL is a negative mark. However, there's a world of difference between one month late 30 days 5 years ago and charged off or in collection. If you know the account never went to collection, then it seems the OC cannot take vengenance against you and report the account to the other CRAs as in collection when it was not.
