chased
I spoke to the CA. Very dumb, but per your advice, no more. The only thing we discussed was a possible settlement and why I was late paying. Does this validate the debt on my part by admitting I knew what they were talking about? Thanks
willingtocope
Only if they were recording. The old adage about "if it ain't in writing, it didn't happen" works to our benefit also.

ThanksLet's hear more about the debt...is it sol. Verbal acknowledgment of the debt and the CA having documentation proving the debt is yours are 2 different things. June
That's why I almost never talk on my telephone unless I initiate the call.Let the caller leave a message. IF I call (which is rare) I have some sort of script handy (as they do) with pencil and paper taking notes (as they do).If you did not record the call, you may have said some things that youDO NOT recall saying. The CA might have ALL the fine details of your conversation on tape. Stay off the phone and never call the convenient Toll-Free numbers. They can obtain new info about you through their toll-free systems. I use USPS P.O. Boxes (as the big 3, OCs and CAs do). I am not hiding from anyone (there are plenty public records for me; licenses, registrations, titles, utilities, phones, USPS P.O. boxes). But, I REFUSE to volunteer any new information to a CA, including, parents, siblings, relatives, friends, neighbors, residential address, banking and/or employment info. Hey, that's just me.
