pedro
How can I found out what the actual date of last activity or verify that the CA is showing on CR is showing correct? I have a collection account that I think is older than what they are showing and want to verify it. Thanks for your help!
kevin3344
Keep in mind it's the date of 1st delinquency, not DOLA, that tells you how long a CO can remain on your reports. This can be tough to determine just by looking at it. Sometimes, the CA updates every month and this can make an account seem newer than it is. Since EX and TU doesn't spell out "date of 1st delinquency" like EQ does, it can be hard to see. You can look at your EQ report or an old copy of your reports if you have one to see if that helps.________Vaporizer wiki Edited September 9, 2011 by kevin3344

kakorot63
I have a few questions. If the CRAs are required to archive this date to determine when a negative CO TL should be removed from a CR, why doesn't the CRA such as Experian display this date or make it readily available to the consumer either online or hard copy? Why should you have to DV or call the OC to get this date, if it is required by the law and should never change?

SecretAgentWoman
I'm confused, my Experian report clearly states the date that each negative TL is due to be removed.
LadynRed
Per the FCRA, it is the FURNISHERS of that data that are REQUIRED to report the date of first delinquency. The CRA's are lazy, they apparently don't pursue any furnishers who do not report this important required date, they just regurgitate what's sent to them ! qtptute
How long can CO's stay on my CR in Texas? Is it seven years? Thanks! Also, can someone give me the link to laws in Texas I cant find it!The FCRA is a FEDERAL LAW. FCRA states 7 years for debts and 10 years for BK. State laws have NOTHING to do with it. If a collection agency buys your account from say another collection agency, you possibly will see a new "date of last activity". The "date of first delinquency" made by you never changes! It doesn't matter is they change the DOLA date. What matters is when it comes time for it to come off your credit report, it's 7 yrs. from DOFD.
