FicoSchmico
Hi All,Using the techniques on this site, I have sent a PFD letter to an OC. They have responded in a seemingly positive manner. The interesting part of their letter (signed in ink on their letterhead by the CEO) states:"We will be happy to delete the charge-off from your credit file upon the payment of $XXX.XX"Should I take this as sufficient for a legal understanding that their tradeline will be removed from all 3 CRAs ?This is my first PFD and I wanted to make sure it was lock tight. Thanks,FS
hopen4800
If YOU think it is at least make sure your check or MO is restrictively endorsed. It sounds like the ceo is probably legit. If you're in a hurry I've faxed them my terms and had it signed and faxed back. If they merely remove the words "charged off" and add the words "paid after charge off" you've gained little. You want "paid as agreed never late". Also whenever I stumble across a helpful soul it pays to elevate them for helping out. You appreciate his/her help "in this little misunderstanding".....You get the idea. Like Mark Twain said "I could live a month on a nice compliment".
