garbear250
I have an old sears collection that is now with portfolio recovery. It was first reported back in 2003 and the amount is 7300.00. Several years ago my wife fought with sears and was able to get letters for both of us from sears stating that we were not responsible for the debt and that we should destroy any cards in our posession. The items were promptly removed from our reports. Now I show the items are back and am unsure of how to proceed. We were originally able to get the letters from sears because they violated the FDCPA and we had documentation to prove it. Any help as how to proceed would be appreciated. kevin3344
I would make a copy of your proof from Sears. Send it along with a letter CMRRR to the CA, and also cc your State Attorney General. Let their office know this CA is attempting to collect a debt that has long been forgiven by the OC.________Hyde Park Residence 2 Prathumnak Edited September 9, 2011 by kevin3344

retmar
Most definitely get the letter in the mail. Send it CMRR with a CC to both Sears and the AG's office.
