CarolinaBlueEyes
I keep getting calls from this 800 number(everything I have is either paid,, being paid or out of SOL) so checking I found out its from a company called CBCS. ..after checking I find out they are a collection agencyI see the number so I let it go to my automated VOICE MAIL.. its OBVIOUSLY voice mail.. a live voice comes on and says.. hi this is Mary (or rick or bob or ezikeal.. whatever) please hang on for a message or "we have an announcement for you , hold on please... or someone will be right with me.. this is NOT automated.. and of course it give me on hold music then disconnects .seriously... can't they tell they are asking my voice mail to hold.. geez they are a bright bunch... IHateCAs
That message seems automated to me.
CarolinaBlueEyes
lol.. believe me I am not that cluelesss.. it was not automation, for one thing it would have sounded alot more professional.. or at least somewhat... unless they are really good at making it sound real.. hmm maybe its a new tact.. real sounding voice mail.. never thought of that actually... I had three of them.. different messages and you can hear sounds. in the background.. and the first one she hesitated.. you can tell usually tell an automated message... .. all different people and these didnt sound in the least like something automated... maybe they have to do this to account for their calls, I dont know how it works.. I was thinking about it after my post and wondered if they just hang up maybe it doesnt count for them.. I have no idea how they account for their phone time... since they seem to transer for the calls maybe those calls dont count unless they transfer them voice mail or not.. I honestly dont know.. no one is that clueless.. once can understand but three times??
rella5
Ha! I have fun with those.. the recording says "please hold for an important message..." so I put the speaker phone on and then when the live person comes on and says "hello..hello..hello..." I say "please hold for a very important message" and then I sit the phone in front of the TV . They don't hold very long.... I only do this when I'm in the kitchen or on the computer reading this site and I'm in the mood for a little fun. BTW, my answering devices are always just the generic thing that comes with them, I never record my own voice or info.

lookinup
I'd guess they are using an automatic dialer and then when they get a connection, it switches it to a real person who may have missed the voicemail message by the time it gets to them.
