JEARLE
Hello Everyone - I Was Wondering If Anyone Can Help Me With A Little Dilemma I Have With Capital One. Long Story Short - I Had An Old Capital One Account Charge Off As Of Apr, 2004, July 2003 (that's What Cr Shows). Odd Two Different Dates!!!I Paid It May 2004 For The Full Amount Owed To A Ca - Risk Management. Now Here's My Dilemma:I Have Requested Twice - Once With A Cmrr And The Second Request To Corporate Offices Via E-mail (since The Gw Letter Did Not Work) To Have All My Statements, Etc Be Mailed To Me For My Records To Make Sure The Information Is Being Reported Right. I Have Got Nothing Which Seems To Me They Have Nothing To Give.I Have Disputed Via The Cra's And All They Do Is Verify/update (whatever That Means Nothing Seems To Change)Can I Dispute Anything To The Cra's That They Are Not Sending Me Records And To Have The Account Removed. I Did Dispute To The Cra's Once With A Copy Of The First Letter And The Green Card And They Just Said Verified!!?And If I Can Have It Removed Since It's A Failure On Capital One's Part Not To Send Me The Info Under The Facta Laws Which I Put In My Letter - How Can I Draft A Letter To The Cra's So That This Gets Removed. Or What Is My Course Of Action.Thank You!
lookinup
I think the next step is to ask the CRAs for their MOV (method of verification, basically what they did to verify.) Search for those terms for more info. Somewhere there is a thread called "removing paid collections" which this would fall under, see what the advice in there is.That's just based on what I've read around here, so someone else may have better advice. I have a similar situation with CRap One. Paid CO- they refuse to delete no matter what. And, they keep exceptional records. I have spoken with them and they can tell me my payment history from the first month I had the card- Dec 2001Unfortunately, there may not be much you can do. For me, Crap one says, you paid it- so you've proven it's yours, and we don't need to send you anything because the account is closed. They even had notes from the day I settled with them back in Jan 05. Crap one is my biggest PIA! They are my only "baddie" left on my TU report and they absolutely refuse to go away. Unfortunately for me, it's reported correctly and that's all that matters to them.I know you have the discrepancy in dates to work with - So, the MOV could prove useful. Good luck! If you can get anywhere with Crap one- you'll be one of the few here to do so.

This is the only credit card account of DH's that I know the exact last month of payment b/c his EX report lists them all.
JEARLE
i also sent a letter via e-mail to the CEO requesting my statements maybe i can get somewhere with that. AndI am about to send a dispute regarding the charge-off dates and also all three CRA's are showing different amounts - if all else fails I am going to try the was to be deleted upon payment tactic. I paid the cc off through a collection agency so hopefully it will work since i did not pay directly with the credit card company! I got alot of homework to do this weekend!!! thanks again for all your insight!!!
maaj
I posted in another thread in the credit repair section as well about a friend getting capital one delted. She had not even paid her debt. She would DV they would verify and she would start the process over again. It was SOL, so she just harassed them, they would never budge. Finally she sent the letter that I put in the other thread and they deleted it. If you can't find it, let me know and I will send it to you!
