determination
I Have A Combined Judgement (multiple Oc's) But The Largest Is An Amount From A Dentist Who No Longer Practices And Has Moved Out Of The State. Can The Ca Still Collect On This One. Also A Returned Check, Buisness Has Same Name But Different Owner Since 2004 Check Written In 2001?
SecretAgentWoman
The CA, if it is a JDB or is collecting for a JDB, may very well collect on a debt whose original owner is no longer in business.
elyse449
If they purchased the debt, they certainly can. I am unsure how it works if the debt was simply assigned.Elyse
divemedic
The good news is that if you DV, there is no way for them to get validation from the OC, is there?

Yeah, but how does the DV process work if it is already included in a judgement?
divemedic
Tough to satisfy a judgment if the former Plaintiff does not exist. I would contact the court and ask them how you are supposed to satisfy the judgment.
stormywsmn
It sounds like the plaintiff was a CA that lumped a bunch of OC's together.
