gtty
Anyone here ever send Asset Acceptance a CEASE COMMUNICATIONS letter? If so, did they sue.
qtptute
I did it for a personal injury case of my own. I sent them a DV with my attorney's infomation (they can't contact me once they've got notice I'm represented by counsel). They called and left messages on my cell and home phone (recorded them to tape, transferred the messages to CD), handed it over to a consumer protection attorney, for the $100 medical debt they were trying to collect (which was not my debt, as it was part of a personal injury case and I was the victim), they ended up paying me $2,000.00. Gonetodocs
They called and left messages on my cell and home phone (recorded them to tape, transferred the messages to CD), handed it over to a consumer protection attorney, Was that under the laws of a one-party or two-party state? qtptute
Virginia is a one party state, but if they are DUMB enough to leave a message on your voice mail, there is NO excuse!
