myscoresawful
Last year, I had two judgements filed against me and since I knew the debts were mine, I didn't bother taking off a day from work and didn't show up, so they won by default. (the lady at the court house told me I would have a chance to pay them before they went on my CR). This was fine, the debts were paid and I didn't think anything about it since I never saw it on my credit report. (ok this was back before I found this site and thought I didn't need to monitor any of the other CRAs, only EQ.)Last night, I thought I would go ahead and pull reports from TU and EX, so that I could see before and after scores since a few of my TLs will be falling off this year.TU has these two judgements, but not EX or EQ. I thought all day today about disputing them online through TU. When I got home today, I had an alert on my TU file and when I looked, it was for one of these judgements. Apparently the amount was changed from $305.00 to "NULL".I haven't been able to see what it actually shows on my CR since it is saying that it hasn't been a full 24 hours since I last updated my CR, so I will have to wait until later tonight or tomorrow. This debt was paid nearly 9 months ago, right after the judgement, what does it mean? They are just now 9 months later updating it? or could they be trying to correct it by putting "NULL" there? If they were updating it, wouldn't it say paid judgement, or something like that? myscoresawful
ok, well, can someone at least tell me this much: Does the person who filed the judgement, have the ability to remove it from being reported to the CRA?It was paid not long after the hearing. Ahntara
"...Does the person who filed...have the ability to remove it from being reported..."No. Judgments, and other legal items, are not 'reported'. Once a legal has been granted, it exists in Public Records. PR's are frequently scanned by independant contractors, who sell the information to various CRA's. Usually PR's go to a secondary data clearinghouse, like LexisNexis or ChoicePoint, which then pass them onto the major 3. This can happen anytime during their reporting period. So just because yours is only showing on 1 CRA doesn't mean it won't eventually appear on the other two.
KMoney
I Got My Judgement Removed By Sending Copies To The CRA That Had It On Their System. My Judgement Only Showed On 2 Of The CRA's But Once I Mailed Them The Copies That I Got From The Court House, They Quickly Removed It.
