ZORG
I have been submitting my disputes one or two at a time to each of the three reporting companies. After my third dispute my revised credit reports came to me with an extra message attached. Something to the effect that the companies have basically investigated -everything- on my report even though I have not submitted disputes for the ones that they have investigated. Is it normal for the report companies to investigate issues even though I have not asked them to? Should I write to them and ask why they did this? I *really* want to know why they might have done that. Any ideas? Any thoughts? Thanks,~Z
someonesomewhere
On the face of it, extra investigations seems like a good thing. Raises the chance that bad stuff will drop off. However, it's just weird enough, I'd give the CRAs a call and ask 'em. I follow Dive's line of thought that I'm not out to sue CRAs. Better to have 'em helping me, if only a little bit.Play dumb and make nice. People have a desire to help others when they seem lost or confused. You may get them to give out more information than they intended.
