credit2fly
Hello All I would like to know if there is a way to search for judements ruled against a person in North Carolina. What is the best way to find the details of judgements against some one. If any of you know the exact website and the link, please post it.Your help is greatly appreciated.ThanksCredit2fly
nascar
Many North Carolina counties do not yet have online access to court records, so, it would depend on what county(s) you are interested in. I still do it the old-fashioned way; go to the courthouse and search.
credit2fly
I certianly would love to do that. The point is I dont live in NC anymore and now live in NJ. Looks like UNIFUND tried to screw me up by filing in NC with wrong address. They pulled my CR with the wrong address. I didnt know it until I checked my CR recently. Do you know where can I call and how to know if a default judgement has been issued on me? The judgement does not appear on my CR but a law firm pulled my CR in May 06. Just want to see if there were any judgements against me and try to see if I can vacate it if there is one as I didnt live in NC?
credit2fly
Forgot to mention. This is for Mecklenburg county (Charlotte). Are the records accessible online. I googled and tried every search, but couldnt hit the home run.
CarolinaBlueEyes
I live in Meck county and Unifund has been all over the place... however I have two judgements and neither are on my credit reports...I do not believe Meck is online..I know Cabarrus and Union are not either (neighboring counties).. .. you might want to call the courthouse and hopefully get someone kind who will help you... and be glad its NOT online.. most of these people are not going to trudge to the courthouse.. I have had both judgements (both Unifunds for over a year) and unifund NOR do the judgements show up on any of my credit reports.Just because they pulled doesnt mean anything but Unifund are slippery so it never hurts to check
