Should I DV or wait?

Just a quick question about some collections that are close to the SOL. There are about 4 accounts on my wife's CR that the SOL will be expire in May. Should I DV them now or wait until the SOL is up? I wanted to get these cleared up ASAP but wondered if waiting would be more advantageous or could I stall them long enough with the DV to let it expire. Thanks.

Tough to predict.

On the one hand, if you haven't heard from them recently, you might want to let them alone until SOL...they'll still be on your reports, but at least if the sue, you'll have a defense.

On the other hand, some creditors do keep track of these things and may file a law suit just before the SOL. Once the suit is filed, your DV is useless.

If your goal is to get them off your reports before the 7-1/2 years are up, then DV and hope they don't have records....

But I thought you could still DV, and even if they've already sued you, they would have to respond with a validation or completely remove it from reporting after the 30 days from the date of your DV request? Then when you go to court, you could explain to the judge that you DV'd, and they had to remove it from reporting because they didn't respond?

(not that the later would get you out of paying the judgement, but could be worthy of the judge's interest)

I could be waaaay off here..

{oh crap, never mind, you DID answer that part, sorry!}
