hi-liter
Long story short, my honey paid a judgement awarded to Citibank. The satisfaction notice has been filed, but now Citi is reporting that he's delinquent on this same account by $578(Keep in mind the judgement was paid in full). Should we dispute this with Citi? We've tried disputing this with the CB to no avail.I've searched the boards, but have not come across this unusual situation. Any others with paid Citi judgements out there have a similar situation?Edited to remove DV..b/c Duhh..I know you don't DV an original Creditor. I can't multi-task today it seems. InsideTexas
People on here like to just say 'You don't DV an OC' and then not tell you anything else. Well, you don't DV and OC. But you CAN dispute with the OC. See letter in the blue links at the very top of your browser entitled 'Dispute with OC'Follow those steps listed. Send in copies of the paid judgement and tell them to take it off or else they face federal charges.
qtptute
Once you get the "its frivilous" letter from the CRA's, then you have a willful case against the CRA and the OC.You can find a consumer protection attorney in your area at www.naca.net to help you. hi-liter
Is the "it's frivolous" letter and the " we've verified this already, go the hell away" letter the same thing? Is the willful violation something that we can take on ourselves without going to an attorney? We had a very bad experience with an attorney listed on NACA, who basically collected his $150 consultation fee and told us there's nothing he can do about this same account, prior to the paid judgement. I can't multi-task today it seems.I would first get a look at the county records to see that the judgment has been satisfied. Something like this happened to me and when I went to the county courthouse, I saw that it was recorded, however, it was on another page. So anyone seeing the original page, that was too stupid to see page 1 of 2, would not see the satisfied portion on the next page. I had the original creditor send me a letter stating that it was paid in full, the county clerk was notified as well as the credit bureaus. I sent the CRA's certified copies and waited for them to verify. If it came back verified...and one did, as still being a judgment, I requesting in writing their MOV, method of verification...the how, when, who, etc. they verified this information. Shortly after that, it was also deleted!
