mzsyd
I have a chargeoff acct w/ Citi my CR shows $6,000 credit limit was $2500 but I guess it includes fees and interest etc. Last acitivity date was in 2004, I am in CA which means SOL expires 2008. For the past year and half I have not recieved any letters from Citi or from any CA on the acct. I am worried that they will sue before 2008 comes around. What are the chances of Citi suing. CarolinaBlueEyes
sometimes they do.. sometimes they dont.. no way to tell.. they could sell it to a JDB who could sue you if they are one of the lawsuit happy ones (think Unifund).. I had five citi accounts.. I got sued on one via Unifund.. the others went to various JDB's which threatened too.. my guess is they will sell it.. but as I said there is no way to tell . sorry I know how stressful that is.. I live in a three year SOL state and believe me it drove me crazy.
someonesomewhere
Wife has an old Citi TL in collection. Been outta SOL for some time now. Drops off her CRs completely in December. They sent maybe one deliquency notice in 2001, 1 or 2 phone calls, and then nothing. No JDB. No CAs. Nada. On that one, I was a cosigner, I DVed it not knowing any better, and I got a deletion.I had one in which I paid the CA in settlement in about 2001 or 2002. Dopey me. Dropped completely off my CRs in about 2004 without any effort by me.

jackid723
I had a citibank credit card which was sold to numerous collection agencies until I finally had to send a cease and desist letter to one that was completely obnoxious, they responded with a lawsuit!!! I won the first lawsuit due to the fact they had nothing with my signature to prove the debt was mine, needless to say they appealed the decision, and I am currently waiting for another court date. Keep your fingers crossed, they may not pursue it, but the collection agency that sued me did so after the SOL expired- I am told they can't do this but unfortunately I am still being drug through the legal process!!! Good Luck.
