thomassl
The accounts are showing as being paid! I'm assuming your complaint is with the dates? The only dates you need to be concerned with is the DOFD which is the date of first delinquency....this is when you made your last payment. Your delinquency date plus 180 days is the date you should know. The dates they show are not your DOFD dates. You will see that the dates on your report may continue to move forward but don't be fooled by this! The CRAs will report DOLA dates which are "date of last activity" don't get confused by this as it most probably means when someone, possibly a creditor or a collection agency, had activity on your account which could mean when they last "looked" at it! Remember... it's the DOFD not the DOLA which counts!
smaxx
How long to I have to wait for these collections to be removed from my report. Can I write the CA and ask them to remove them
LadynRed
Derogatory entries remain on your reports for 7-1/2 years from the date of first delinquency - with the ORIGINAL CREDITOR, not from the collection dates.
MadinKS
How would he/she find out the DOFD? My wife's accounts were unknown to me until Jan 07 and I really need to know which one's are out of SOL. Maybe this will help more people too. Thanks. divemedic
The problem is that you paid the CA. Paid collections are the most difficult to get rid of. Get ahold of the medical provider, they will be able to tell you the date of service. It will come off 7 1/2 years from that day.
