jimbowler
Hi, guys,I'm seeking help with my credit-repair effort. I have several charged-off/collection accounts on my credit reports but they are all quite old. We're thinking about buying a house early next year, so I have to clean up my credit now.First, the toughest one is a charged-off account from capital one credit card. I'm pretty sure that my last payment was in earlier 2000. But when I check my credit reports, it seems that they are re-aging my account (I have never contacted them since my last payment). For example, my Transunion report shows the "date closed" is 10/2006. If this means the last day of activities, it'll be absolutely false. So I'm wondering how I should deal with this situation.BTW, the account was opened in NY (with SOL of 6 years). I'm now in WV.Below are the two reports. Thanks a lot for your help.1. someonesomewhere
This account is scheduled to continue on record until Mar 2007.Given that it's now March 2007, I would let this one lie for now, and check your CRs again in 3 weeks. Print out all three CRs today, and again in 3 weeks time.If the TL is still there, then I would revisit it by disputing with the CRAs as too old. jimbowler
Thank you for your quick reply. BTW, does anyone know if "date closed" on the credit report represent the day of last activities? Thanks. This account is scheduled to continue on record until Mar 2007.Given that it's now March 2007, I would let this one lie for now, and check your CRs again in 3 weeks.
