MadinKS
I was reading another post and realized that I don't have any idea when the DOFD on my wife's accounts were. I didn't even know about these accounts until I tried for a mortgage and gave them both of our SSN's. Now I have taken up fixing her credit and wondered if there's a way to find that out? The true dates vs. the dates the CA will give. If they even respond at all, aren't the CA's required to give that information out when you DV them? Losing more confidence daily about this whole thing. Please help. Thanks.MadinKS
chilton1
When i disputed with Equifax the report equifax sent to me had the DOLA which was actually six months before the date the CA listed.
MadinKS
She has a few that are like that but I am not sure how to proceed now because I don't know if the SOL's are up now or not. The two accounts I just received collection notices on today show 5/2002 for the DOLA dates but is that accurate? How to know, I don't know. chilton1
I think you are safe KS has a 3 year SOL on open accounts. If you are sure that it is more than 3 years I would Dv the collection agency and then dispute with the CRA
MadinKS
KS SOL is 5 years and none of the dates jive on the 3 different CR's. Isn't the SOL determined by the OC DOLA? Or am I confused again?
chilton1
what kind of account is it? Credit card? Yes the DOLA is what you use to calculate the SOL
MadinKS
Yeah, both are credit cards (1st Premier and Cortrust) being reported by Arrow Financial and collected by True Logic(I guess for Arrow). Who the heck do I DV? I am already fed up with this crap but have to keep my promise to get my wife's credit out of the dumps.
chilton1
Send the DV to the Collection agency. Go to the top of the page and click on statue of limitation. Ks is three years for open accounts ie credit cards
MadinKS
I'm sorry. I thought a credit card was written. Should read better. Thanks for the information. When you say send to the collection agency, which one? True Logic or the one that is reporting it (Arrow Financial)?

There is a sticky with a flow chart on the Dv process. I will try to find the link to the sticky.
