chelseagirl
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hello again... I sent my notice of appearance and answers to the court. (denied all except my address) I was wondering if anyone can help me out. (Capital One Lawsuit). What do I need to SAY in court for my defense. I can't afford a lawyer so I'm going alone. As far as I know they have no evidence I owe the debt. Signed contract, signed slips, etc. I can't even remember if this is my debt. Will the judge be hard on me???? I need to know what to say in my defense to win. My debt is $900.Thank-you. Thank-you, Thank-you!!!!
willingtocope
If you're going to have to do this yourself, the best advice I can give is go sit in the judge's court and see how things are handled. Aside from a knowledge of the law, the most important thing a lawyer brings to the table is a knowledge of the judge. The basic problem with getting advice over the internet is that it will either be very general or very specific to one person's experience with courts in their area...or, in some cases, the incoherent ramblings of someone who is just interested in finding a stage for them to perform.Go sit in on a couple sessions...see how the judge does his job.
