AU reporting

OK folks.....I found this "trick" (or "loophole") thread on another credit board website.

Basically, many of us know that even if you are an AU on an account, if your address does not match that of the account holder, it does not report. I have been an AU on my mom's home depot for over a year and it never reported. I called them for help and nada. I just thought, "Oh well, I will never get "AU help" for my credit report....:( )

Yesterday, I read where the OP had logged onto TC, went to the "your account" link. There is your name, current addy and cc info. Below the current addy is a place to enter a previous addy. The OP entered the addy of the account holder and Bang! The AU accounts began reporting!

Many old timers advised caution because we don't have enough history to prove the theory. I decided to be one to try it.....

I entered my mom's addy in the previous address and then submitted and waited for today to pull a new report. I pulled a new TC this morning. The address was not on any of the 3 so I had figured that it didn't work. I scrolled down and saw 2 accounts I did not recognize. I checked the "more about this account" link....OMG! It is my mom's home depot!!!! It has a $960 balance on a $13500 limit! (It is only reporting on EX at the moment.)

Anyway, I checked and my fako went up 50 points! I logged onto experian and pulled one of theirs....my fako went up 45 points there!!! SOOOOO since EX is my WORST score, I pulled a real FICO. Ahhhh a bit of a let down, but still good news....I had an overnight increase of 28 points!!!!! Whooo Hoooo!

:BigDance:

Thought I would share this with others whose AU accts are not reporting.

Good luck!

haji,

Home Depot REFUSED to take my SSN to report.

For prev poster.....yes, this was on TC. I had been a bit skeptical because if you update the "prev" addy on TC (which is TU), how does it get to all 3? Well, imagine my surprise when EX was the first to pick it up a day later!
