InsideTexas Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 I sent out a letter going to another city within the state along with a few going to PO Boxes in other states. They went out between Feb 27 and March 6th. Still no greed card from those three. The first letter I sent to one of the same companies had a green card come back pretty quick. Now, it's taking forever. Possibly just a mail thing? I didn't think it would take this long to get somewhere within the state.
SecretAgentWoman Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 Have you tracked the numbers online to see if they were delivered?
CarolinaBlueEyes Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 I have had some take as long as a month to return.. but my average has been about three weeks
Recovering Attorney Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 I don't bother. Use certified only. Or Priority with delivery confirmation. I care that I can show I mailed the letter and it got delivered, not that the mail room guy signed for it. Many people ignore RRR, so I avoid it and get the same result.
divemedic Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 I have had a couple of green cards not come back. You can track your letter at usps.com
IngridA Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 I have had a couple of green cards not come back. You can track your letter at usps.comSame here....the one time I didn't get it back, I went back to the PO and the clerk had me fill out a lost mail form (or something of that nature?) and she refunded my CMRR fees....the CA actually did get the letter, as they sent me DV information about a week later....Ironically, the CA must have gone out of business, because they aren't reporting on my CRs anymore....
Fizzle1979 Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 I had one from an OC take over a month...because I left off a number off the PO Box addrress. But it was indicated on the green card that it was delivered to a different address...the correct post office box. I had another one come back not signed by the TU employee...just completely blank. A few days later another one came in and it had the same tracking number and was signed by the TU employee.
someonesomewhere Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 From USPSReturn Receipt fees are refunded only if the USPS fails to provide the recipient’s signature. Visit your local Post Office™ to apply. If you have purchased a retail Return Receipt and have not received the return receipt (or receive an incomplete receipt) you may request a refund or duplicate copy either:After 21 calendar days from date of mailing.Anytime after you know the item has been delivered. The applicable fee is waived if you can produce a receipt showing the applicable return receipt fee was paid.If you have purchased an electronic Return Receipt and have not received your electronic return receipt via email within 3-5 days of your request, we suggest you visit us at usps.com and check the delivery status of your item.If you discover that your item has been delivered, we suggest that you check your Spam or junk folder. Although we have designed our email to bypass most Spam filtering systems occasionally email that is not Spam/junk will be sent to the Spam folder if it does not meet your criteria for acceptable email. As a final alternative, we suggest that you request your Return Receipt Electronic again.
Fizzle1979 Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 Can I get your opinion on something. If the green card came back with a signature (well stamped with a signature and printed name) but the box for AGENT or ADDRESSEE was not checked or marked ... to me that would indicate it was incomplete and I could ask for a refund correct? I'm just concerned about that box not being checked or marked because the CA it was addressed to did not respond to my first attempt to VD. So I was going to send them a copy of the green card to show they signed for it.03/26/07 EQ - 682, EX - 712, TU - 628
someonesomewhere Posted March 27, 2007 Report Posted March 27, 2007 I'm not sure, but I believe those boxes are only for Restricted Delivery, which costs extra.http://www.usps.com/send/waystosendmail/extraservices/restricteddeliveryservice.htm
Fizzle1979 Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 FYI - I spoke with the post office employee yesterday about the green card. The box for AGENT or ADRESSEE *IS* supposed to be checked. But it does not state that it must be checked in their post office "BIBLE" as the employee informed me.
someonesomewhere Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 I looked thru some of my green cards. Didn't see ANY where either box was checked.
