egallagher2k
I am new here (about two weeks) and find this site to be a great resource. Thank you. I am just beginning my credit repair after losing a job and going through a divorce two years ago. Prior to that my score was in the mid 700's. It is now in the high 500's. Wow!I just sent my first two DV letters out today to CAs and simultaneously sent dispute letters to the 3 CRBs as suggested here. I need to send one goodwill letter out to a current and longtime OC as well.I decided to kill time by investigating an enormous amount of inquiries on my report from 8/06. I did go Lendingtree to research a home equity line at the time and their site says "up to 5 lenders". I had 9 lenders hit my report and two keep hitting hit every month as late as 2/21/07. Lendingtree blames the CRBs saying that only 4 hit my report because of them and that the CRBs sold my info to the other 5 and that those 5 have a "legal right" to pull my credit because I have a "business need". This doesn't sound right to me. Can this be? In all there were 15 pulls over the last 6 months relating to my application on Lendingtree in 8/06. Of course on my credit report it lists the negative of "too many recent inquiries". Duh!Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and thanks for this site. newbie7069
I would do a search for LendingTree. I vaguely remember reading other posts where other posters have had similar problems. Also look for removing inquiries. These sound like you should have no problem disputing them.
SOC
nope. Permissible purpose. and if you authorize 5, then the other 9 are wrong. If they did have a request then they can show it, if they cant show it they are wrong. Unless what you refering to is a soft pull. (Something that is not seen by others) business can do a lot of them.
