serenity06
A creditor had the a charge from Time Warner on my credit report. They stated that this was my bill. They have my previous address and everything as being the place of services but I did not have service at the resident. I found that they did not even have my correct SSN number. What should I do and how can a take care of this? Do anyone have a letter that I can write to the collection agency? Should I send them a copy of my SSN card to prove to them that this is not my account? I thought if I did this they could change it in their database and make me really liable for the account. I have, also, disputed it with the CB and it was verified. Someone please help me....
MadinKS
Take a look at pagehttp://www.creditinfocenter.com/forms/sampleletter9.shtml. Send them a DV letter to validate the debt. DO NOT send them a copy of your SSN card. Easy change to their records and you just screwed yourself. Start there and see what happens.
