serenity06
Do having a lot of student loans hurt your credit report as far as the beacon/FICO score? Also, if I have consolidated all the loans why don't they just fall off? Can they be removed like any other debt after 7 years or the last date of activity? ConfusedToo
My paid one fell off after 7 years. I have 3 others, all paid, but one showing as owing and in "collection". I have tried for 3 months to get this corrected on my report. The OC even admits I don't owe them anything and the account is in good standing. They say they are reporting it correctly! So after 3 months, I sent ITS letters to OC and CRA.Unpaid, delinquent student loans do sock your credit score.
