acwh
Am trying to settle debts by a re-fi. Talked to Wolpoff (CA) today and the guy on the phone told me very snottily to "call back by Wed at 5 PM" if I wanted to continue discussing a settlement with them by providing the info he wanted. I would not give him info he wanted, like where my husband worked, where we banked, when we bought our house, etc. I just said "No Comment" to the questions. I'm not obligated to answer those type questions, am I?
divemedic
no, but they are not required to settle on your terms, either. Stay off the phone. Did you DV them?
serenity06
I agree with Divemedic - Send a DV letter and stay off that phone r. Do not call them because that is how I got messed up. I ended up with no settlement at all. Plus they will try to make you feel bad and you do not need this at all. I don't know if anyone agrees with me but it seems like they are trying to get you to help them build a case against you. I hope that came out right. Anyway, I wish you luck.
