InsideTexas
I figured this might help out since Googling sometimes does not work with some CA's phone numbers. I'm lucky in that the number they are calling is a phone number I only use as a backup when my main line is not working properly. Creditors Financial: 877-298-2251Mann Bracken: A-holes...since the 13th, they have called me ten times. The 13th was the first day they were sold the debt per BoA. They got a DV sent to them today. Today was also the first day I received any sort of paperwork from them. 678-801-2399The personal line to this woman who has been calling me incessantly 678-801-2657Capital One (This was not for a collection but probably for something else since I have only been late once on that account and that was in 05.) 877-337-2418
willingtocope
Offered without endorsement of any kind....There is a web site called www.whocalled.us whose list seems to include a lot of collectors (for some strange reason)....
AISLE4
If you're wondering who called and don't want to talk to them, just call back after hours when no one is there. They already have your phone number, so you don't have to worry about them capturing it. They identify the biz on the voice mail greeting. Academy has been calling me and leaving messages with different return numbers. The messages are all legal sounding with case numbers and pre-legal talk and so on, but calling back after hours tells me that they are all from Academy. Yawn.----This is a very sophisticated cloak-and-dagger trick I got from CarolinaBlueEyes. Thanks CBE.

Thanks CBE.LOL I thought that tacitc look familar .. one thing to remember though.. if you are in the Eastern time zone as I am.. make sure you call AFTER midnight Pacific time.. in some cases they are there because they are making west cost calls as well.. Oh and one more thing.. listen to the message and in some cases they dont give you a company name.. but if you wait long enough the phone tree sometimes transfers you and you end up finding out the name of the company that way... Thanks CBE.LOL...I do that all the time...the thing is what do you do when they are calling for someone who used to have the phone number you now have? I swear for the past 3 months my phone rings day and night for this Sandra woman. I dont even know a damn Sandra nor is my name Sandra and I tell them that constantly. The calls stop for a week and then they start all over again! I refuse to get a new number, but there must be a way I can make the calls stop. I tried to place a block on every single number that comes through on my caller id from CA's but they wont let me block the numbers! ARGGH!!!! Its bad enough when they hound you about your own debt, why the hell do I need to be hounded about another person's debt whom I don't even know of! It picks up and then hangs up. Half a ring and they are gone. There is software on the www that you can use for this.
