IM in Ohio Sol in OHio?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering i have a few accounts turned into collection agencys that are over 7 years now. They fell off this year. There still on my accounts i had my credit reports pulled today.

My question is since there still on there if i call the credit reporting agencys and tell them that there on there. What are my chances to get them off since its been 7 years and should i call them?

any help would be great

thanks

That is not what im asking. All im asking is that can i call them and tell them that these are on my file still after the 7 years is up. That way i can get them taken off and do it faster. If i can do it this way then id prefer to call them. I dont have alot of time, my credit got ruined by me so im willing to just pay i need to get a house to have a place to live. So this is my only choice so im looking to get my score up some and some of this stuff dropped faster than disputing everything. Im more than willing to pay and get them done if they agree to take them off my record.

Im asking straight up answers so please answer back straight up i dont understand all this credit stuff otherwise i wouldnt be asking questions.

thanks

The short answer to your question is...no.

Now, if you'd like to rephrase your question so it makes a little more sense, we'll try to help.

Here's some things to get you started.

The SOL in ohio seems to be 15 years for CCs. On the other hand, the credit bureaus are only allowed to reported derogatory information for 7-1/2 years. So, if you have some bad tradelines that fell off your reports at 7-1/2 years, then let them be...

On the other hand, what exactly is it that still being reported?

They are not going to be removed any faster.. reporting is 7 to 7 1/2 years.. period.. and as WillingToCope... stated so politely, even after a rude response, is accurate.. YOU need to dispute with the credit reporting agencies.. that will have more effect then contacting the creditors.. which can be a bad idea in ohio since they still can sue you.... kicking a sleeping dog is never a good idea

A bad attitude is definetly a way not to get any help here on this site. But

the answer is no, you cant just call someone and say hey take this off my credit report. To get things off your cr you have to be patient, diligent, persistent, learn techniques, develop a game plan.

But by all means if you think throwing money around will help your cause by all means play on player.

im sorry if you thought my attitude was bad i didnt mean for it to sound that way. i was told that contacting the oc could help get the stuff taken off so i thought that if i called them it might.

when you say cc do you mean credit card if so i have never had one.

all the stuff on my accounts are medical and a few utlitiy bills and phone bills stuff like that.

thanks

I live in Ohio and the statue of limitations for written contracts and promissory notes is 15 years; it is 6 yrs. for oral contracts and open ended accounts. Credit card payments are considered open ended accounts. Since your bills are not these, you have a 15 yr. statue of limitations. Even if per chance they do fall off your credit report, they still have the 15 yr. window to sue you. As far as the original creditor, unless they still own and debt, you might be able to negotiate a "PFD" pay for delete even if they are using a collection account. If the debt has been sold, you will have to deal with the collection agency and again, I would go for a PFD. So, I would first get a current copy of my credit report, determine who owns the debt and go from there! Remember, we did get into our debt problems overnight and getting out of them is not going to be done overnight either! :)%

Alot of this is very confusing to me. Well what im saying is some of my stuff is still on my report and its been 7 years now. I thought after 7 it falls off.

As for who owns what that is what confuses me. I made the mistake of calling one of these collection agencies and i talked to them they were nice to me didnt beg me to pay, or anything like that. I told them i would pay in full if they remove this from my credit report and they told me they do not do this for anybody if they did it for one they would have to do it for all she told me it would have to stay on there for 7 years to be removed. And that if i did pay it would just show that i paid nothing more. So that discouraged me seeing that these companies wont work with you at all.

Im not truely sure how i can tell if the account is sold, bought or what. All my account say collection and dates and say closed with collection agency phone numbers so im thinking they are all in collections so that is where ill have to argue to get them dropped or paid.

As for disputing that is what i do first right with the credit bureuas then if i dont get anywhere i then do the debt validation. I just need to get one of these going and then ill understand how to go about the rest and learn from tral and error.

Alo to of my stuff is old. But i have like 30 on here mostly medical and some are duplicates same bill on here twice. My scores are 587 Experian - 518 equifax - and a low 471 transunion

i really need to get them closer to 600 to get a house. I have a good job just had some bad habits and no work back then.

any more help would be great.

thanks

If some of the same debt is reporting twice onto your report here is what you do, first go to your equifax report, hightlight each debt with the color yellow that is a duplicate, then do the same w/transunion and again with experian.

Next take a orange highlighter and hightlight everything on each of your reports that is 7 years or older.

Ok now u have completed both of these steps go to truecredit.com and sign up for their 30 day free trial for their 3 in 1 monitoring. The reason I say use truecredit is because its easy to manuever and you can pull a new credit report every 24 hours for free.

Now you want to search this site for each credit bureua phone number so you can begin your journey.

Now u can start your journey towards credit repair. Now I say start w/EQ because thats a personal choice everytime I dispute with them i usuallly get a deletion, again thats my personal choice. Ok back to the plan, w/eq dispute everything in yellow as reporting twice, now for me i had a few things on my report that reported twice. I used no knowledge of this account, and they fell off. Then move to transunion and do the same thing, then move to Experian and do the same thing. Then sit back for 15 days and keep checking your 3 in 1 report and watch what your efforts can do. Thing will start falling off your reports. Now on day 16 u want to repeat the same process with each report for the things that are highlighted orange. This time your dispute will be for SOL(statue of limitations). Sit back and watch what happens then. Now your reports look alot clearer and you can research this site for ways to repair things that still remain.

Here is a good starting point I have outlined for you to get you started, this is how I got my start 18 months ago. Is itt the best way to do it, no, yes maybe, who knows, but I can tell you what worked for me and my scores are up 100++ pts and I started in worst shape than you did 18 months ago.

well this is my advice, I tried to make it simple so your not overwhelmed. Remember credit repair is a marathon not a race so dont get discouraged.
