bradjohnson22
I had an account through Navy Federal CU that was written off in 2003 for $3100. NFCU have pulled my credit report 3 times in the past 2 years without my consent. I didnt know until I pulled my reports from the CRA's. Is there any way I can use this as leverage to have the write-off removed from my credit report? I know their records are not great, the WO amount/date is different from report to report. Thanks in advance.
SecretAgentWoman
An OC or a CA that has a collection account with you is legally allowed to pull your CR without asking you first.
newbie7069
If they are still listed on your report, I have had some success having them moved to the "soft" by stating that they were a current creditor and that the inquiry should be reported as an account review.I'm not trying to start an arguement, just stating what has worked for me in the past
bradjohnson22
wow, I was not aware of that. ahh FCRA section 604, w/o permissible purpose. I guess the best way to deal with them is to wait it out. The SOL expires in 02/2008. I'd like to take care of it, but I dont want it on my report for another 7 years
