jq26
I filed Bk7 in Mar 2004 and discharged October 2004. As of today, it has been a little less than 29 months since discharge. By using CIC (hours and hours of searching & lurking and then later asking questions), new credit has been established through credit cards, secured loans, etc. Despite a briefcase full of certified mail, I've been unsuccessful in getting any collection accounts, IIB accounts, or the ugly public record off of any of my reports. At this point, all creditors are reporting accurately as $0 owed and IIB on my reports. Earlier today, my mortgage broker pulled a tri-merge to qualify me for a property. The FICO scores came up as 696 (EQ), 709 (EX), and 715 (TU). I was blown away. Strangely, that is the highest score I have ever had, even when my credit was squeaky clean. Just posting this as a little motivation to those reading this that are thinking that a BK will preclude you from credit ever again. Not true. Ahntara
Incredible scores for only 2+ years after a BK. You have certainly done your work in repairing. Way to go!
anicholson75
WOW! That's incredible! That certainly lifts my spirits up some! WTG!!!
jq26
Thanks. Lots of hard work and time spent. It was all about opening new tradelines in my case and of course, NO LATE PAYMENTS.
itrev82
My BK (Ch 7) discharged about 6 months ago... I am sitting at about a 598 credit score right now... Not too shabby, but not where I need to be. I was at 570 back in January.. so I have done well in 2.5 months I think.
jq26
...so I have done well in 2.5 months I think. Not bad at all! They will go up with time and new credit. Flush out the point deductions for the IIBs with new installment and revolving credit. I think the sizable jumps really started at the one and two year mark.
