mzsyd Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 I'm looking at my credit report and I see HSBC/BSTBY listed twice, the 1st listing is for EFX with the DOLA 04/04 (account sold to LNVN). The 2nd listing is for both TU and XPN with the DLOA 03/05 (sold). Both listing from HSBS were last reported 3/07. Now, LNVN is also on my report with the DOLA as 3/05. So the one of the DOLA is not accurate, how do I dispute that? Can I dispute it?
SecretAgentWoman Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 Oh, I got that all over my report, mismatched dates between OC, JDB, and CAs on the same account. Mismatched dates between the same tradeline on different CRAs. Would be nice to use that against them, eh?
someonesomewhere Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 If the data ain't consistent across all CRs where the TL appears, then that's a violation.http://www.creditinfocenter.com/legal/FCRA.shtml#623(a) Duty of furnishers of information to provide accurate information. If the OC, CA or JDB is reporting $1,300 owed on EQ, $3,100 owed on EX, and $130 owed on TU under the same account, well then at least 2 of the TLs are not accurate.
mzsyd Posted March 22, 2007 Author Report Posted March 22, 2007 Yes, one is the OC and the other is the JDB. But the dtae of last activity does not match between the OC and the JDB.
someonesomewhere Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 Are you sure one TL isn't from the CA and the other from the OC? In any event, one of them would seem to be a violation. Keep a printed hard copy, and add one to the violation list.
mzsyd Posted March 23, 2007 Author Report Posted March 23, 2007 I'm just curious if the dates were not accurate between the two, if I can dispute it somehow..HSBC/BSTBY listed n EFX DOLA:04/04 then with TU and XPN DOLA: 03/05. I do not see how this is accurate reporting...if they can't agree
thomassl Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 I think many people get confused about the DOLA which means Date of Last Activity...this could mean the last date something was done on your credit report! The date we must be concerned with is the DOFD which is the Date of First Delinquency! I wouldn't care how many dates they try to put on my credit report to confuse me into thinking my SOL is not up or when it comes off my credit report...I know when my accounts became first delinquent and this is the date I always go by! This forum has taught me what to look for and the tactics CA's JDB's, etc. will use to get money out of me they are no longer eligible for!
pinkeysas Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 one item being reported on my EXP CR does not have a DOFD. It doesnt even give that as an option it only gives me.Reported since: 12/2005Date Opened: 12/2005Date of Status: 8/2002Last Reported: 12/2006Should i go by the earliest date listed of 8/2002 for the SOL???
