Gorilla50
I am seeking some guidance. I've read on different posts that if a Judgment is valid, you can negotiate with the creditor to remove (dismiss) the judgment if you agree to pay off of the debt. Is this true? If it is how do i do this? Does anyone have an example, a document, anything that illustrates the process?
Recovering Attorney
If I hold a judgment against you, I will be pleased to take my money. With interest, depending on how old it is. If you pay me I have to file a satisfaction of judgment. If it is under 7 years, it will show on your CR most likely. If you say you want to pay me but you want me to vacate the judgment so it isn't on your CR, I say "too bad." Why should I do you a favor?Better to offer to pay the judgment and ask if they will simply not oppose your motion to vacate. You do the work, they should not mind, so long as they are getting what they are entitled to. You get humble pie and a chance to eat it, too.
