beeboah
Now that my credit is getting better, I am going to ask for some positive stuff. How many positive credit cards should a credit report have to obtain the best possible score?I know the answer is probably not very cut and dry, but any info would be helpful and appreciated. For example, my wife started her credit history about a year ago. She got a CRAP one card with a limit of about $500, then she was approved for a Chase Card for $3000.She also has a Verizon positive tradeline for home phone service. Kind of weird, but we aren't complaining. She would like to open the minimal amount of accounts while obtaining the best possible score. How many more (approximately) cards would she be required to obtain? Thanks! Ahntara
Between 2 and 4 revolving accounts is optimal for score purposes. This includes ALL revolving accounts, not just CC's. They must be managed properly. It's also best to have at least one installment loan. The scoring software likes to see a mix of account types. Does this number include "closed" accounts in a positive status?Would a closed and paid mortgage count towards this number?
