Determined1
Hi,In the process of disputing several items with Equifax, they knocked off 3 positive tradelines several months back. One of these was a closed cc with Goodyear / CitiCards, which I re-opened for the purpose of having it report and boosting my credit score. But I cant seem to get this item back on my report! Goodyear/Citi insists they reported it, but it generally takes 30-60 days for their items to post to the CRA's. I find that hard to believe.Question: Does anyone have a CitiCard account with a dep't store or merchant and how long before they update on your reports?Any thoughs on getting the CRA (in this case EQ) to put this active account back on my report? Thanks for any input or advice! Yawo64
Do you have any letter from the OC confirming the re-opening of the account? If so, you can send the CRA a letter (with the letter from OC attached)....rgds, Y
Determined1
Thanks Yawo. Therein lies my frustration. I have sent Equifax a copy of a current statement with a copy of the credit card with no success. They keep telling me to contact the credit grantor. Goodyear/Citi just tells me they have reported, and to contact EQ...
divemedic
Many times a CRA takes revenge on people by deleting positives and refusing to put them back on.
Determined1
Thanks Dive - they are evil, arent they? Any thoughts on how to "fix" the problem in this case? Also, anyone with a Dep't store Citicard that can advise on how often they update? Thanks. LNY
OP, were these simple disputes, or were there legal threats involved? Just wondering what they might be taking revenge for.
Determined1
All regular disputes....no legal threats or action involved.
LNY
OK, so there's probably no "revenge" involved here. How long ago was the Goodyear account reopened? Does it have the same account number as the previous closed account? That could have something to do with it. Remember that negative items that are re-reported manage to pop up again, but hardly anyone has ever had success getting a deleted positive to reappear. Funny how that works. Also, are all the items that got deleted the same items you disputed? That wasn't clear from your original post.
Determined1
The Goodyear/Citi account was re-opened about 30 days ago. Interesting that you bring up different account numbers, because this card has a different number from the original account (the account dissapeared on EQ long before I re-opened it) - but Citi has assured me this is not a new account and is being reported as the original account opened 8/01. Also, none of the accounts that disappeared were disputed or ever challenged in any way by me...
