I sent a debt validation letter to a law firm for capital one and they sent me a letter stating they received it like two weeks later. Now, thirty days have passed since the debt validation letter was originally sent, now what do i do, since I have heard nothing but they have received my letter??? help( i thought from reading everything that they have 30 days to respond to my letter, or it must be deleted) HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

(meaning, did you send it in within 30 days of receiving notice from them)... If it was untimely, the dont have to respond at all... skully109 Posted March 27, 2007 Author Report Share Posted March 27, 2007 the credit card was from about 3 years ago and i received the letter from the law firm stating this is an attempt to collect a debt and if you dont answer within 30 days this debt will be deemed valid. It was the first letter from the law firm and i sent a certified letter and the rest is the same as the last post it was within a timely fashion. hopes this helps more Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

blondie813 Posted March 27, 2007 Report Share Posted March 27, 2007 Did you dispute the TL with the CRA's after you confirmed the CA received it? If so, did the CRA's report it as "verified"? If so, then you've got something to work with. Following divemedic's primer or going by the Good Credit is Sexy book are two great ways to be clear on your next steps.
