ARICIAB
Hi everyone, I need a little insight. Are accounts in dispute with the CB placed on CR'S that are requested on a hard pull? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks
VonAngel (aka EarthAngel)
Are you asking if a creditor can see accounts that are in dispute when they pull your CR? Yes, hence the importance of labeling the account "in dispute".
ARICIAB
That was exactly what I mean't. Thank you for your help. Second question, Does an account "in Dispute " hurt your fico score or does it make your score better until the dispute is resolved?

Second question, Does an account "in Dispute " hurt your fico score or does it make your score better until the dispute is resolved? It could cause your score to increase OR decrease, depending on your CR as a whole. But "in dispute" is not generally a negative impact on your credit. It means exactly what it says - "in dispute" or "consumer disputes this information". VonAngel (aka EarthAngel)
I have disputes with the CRA and when I check my report daily it doesnt show disputes. They have up to 30 days to report the current status of the dispute. [FCRA § 611(a)(1)(A)] If you disputed directly w/ the furnisher, then the furnisher AND the CRA are obligated to report that the TL is being disputed. Even if they don't, you can't sue for the violation. You may want to read the FCRA for yourself just in case I missed something. It can be overwhelming, but it's worth the time. Also, I EQ sent me my CR and it doesnt look like changed any thing, now what?Did they not also send a summary of the investigation results? All you got was the report w/ no cover sheet??
pjfan
If it appears nothing was done it is likely that it was updated and verified (or at least in my case) When they sent you the credit report the first page should say something along the lines of 'we completed our investigation .....'Then it we say whether the outcome is deleted, updated ect...It can be hard to tell what they have done, read everything they send you.I have disputes with the CRA and when I check my report daily it doesnt show disputes. Also, I EQ sent me my CR and it doesnt look like changed any thing, now what? All I got was a letter beasically stating you asked for an investigation, and if you see something inaccurate please go online to dispute..
