wzelewsky
Has anyone had any luck having late payments removed while still paying on the debt. My husband bought a motorcycle years ago, we are down to 4000 on owing, but a few time we were late while looking for jobs or moving. Would they remove the late payments
someonesomewhere
Yes, if the account is current, and the lates aren't too recent, that TL is a good candidate for goodwilling.http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showpost.php?p=746810&postcount=2Word of advice. Don't copy 'em word for word, but do feel free to take 'em and use 'em as a starting point. Be creative, put it in your own words, and tailor it to your specific situation. Read the letter aloud, and see if it sounds like your words or not.

stancil1
I have a Wells Fargo from back in 2002 that was perfect for 47 months, on the 48th month we traded it in and somehow got an over 30 the very last month..Actually I never remembered doing business with Wells Fargo but I still have this account showing up on Experian only. I requested verification from the OC, they sent me a letter stating that the account was mine and that it was verified by Transunion, Experian and Equifax....They just made a big mistake.. I called the 1-800 number on their response letter and was extremely nice to the lady, maybe even a little flirtatious. Anyway, I asked if she could take another look at the account as I explained to her that I never disputed weither or not it was mine (their letter stated the loan was for an automobile), just that it was paid perfect until we traded it in and then the dealership obviously paid it off late. I also advised her that I was trying to buy a house and that this TL was Killing me. She told me that the TL was only listed on Experian so I asked her why then the letter stated that they had verified the accuracy with Transunion, Experian and Equifax. She just said humm, I don't know. At at that point, she advised me that not only would she remove the 30 days late but that she would also make sure that it was on the other 2 bureau's and because I was obtaining a mortgage, she would fax me all this in writting (of which I just received). She said that she was located in Iowa and that the weather there was horrible, I told her that I was in Texas so she made me promise to send her some Sun Shine...I suppose my point is that you can get alot more done with kindness and a good attitude than you can being a super smart-know it all-Jacka_ _. By the way, I still don't think the account is mine!D

someonesomewhere
May I ask to whoms attn you send a goodwill ltr too? Some recommend sending goodwill letters to CEOs. That might be appropriate with a small OC, but if it's a bank worth a billion plus then I seriously doubt the CEO will ever see, read or hear about it. Just my two cents. My goodwill letters to Chase, GMAC and JCPenney were sent to the address on the CR, and the greeting was Dear Madam or Sir. I think one stands a better chance of getting goodwill from a working stiff than an executive.
