RSB
I have some bills I want to toss. Here is my long story. I don't think any one will need these bills, anymore. I got divorced in 1996. After the divorce, my ex husband always told doctors and hospitals, that I was responsible for all the entire bills that we incurred for treatment of our children.(he lied) In 2001 my ex husband told a medical clinic and a hospital, that I was to pay the bill. He gave them my address and I got the bill in the mail. I called the places and told them what the court ordered papers said about the bills(that he is to pay). The medicals bills then were sent to my PO box, with my ex's name on it. (the billing people were still confused, I guess) So, I handed two bills to my exhusband, one day. He threw them at me (and they hit my head!). He yelled and said he wasn't paying.I called the medical places and gave my ex husband's address to them. They never did send the bills to his address. The two places continued to send his bills to my address. I called again, and insisted they change the mailing address. They did not.So, for two years I got my ex husband's bills at my PO box. This was 2001 and 2002. I moved out of state in Jan 2001, and the post office forwarded my ex husband's bills to me every month...to my new state. I took back my maiden name, so the last name on these forwarded bills was not even mine.I saved all those bills. I want to throw them away now. Can I do that? I don't think any one will need them, anymore. The Sol for all debts in Tx is 4 years. It has been five years now.
MissaFraQ
I'd keep them just in case. Perhaps put them in their own box up in the attic for easy access. I've learned NOT to throw out anything when it comes to my last marriage or my kids. From this point forward, anything that came to my house with his name on it, I would put "No longer at this address" and send it back
kevin3344
The Sol for all debts in Tx is 4 years.I keep anything that could affect my credit. The SOL may be 4 years, but you never know when you'll need to pull out an old bill to use in your defense. So, for two years I got my ex husband's bills at my PO box. This was 2001 and 2002. When I see mail for them, I simply write return to sender and place it back in the mailbox for my mailman to pick up. They kept sending them, and I kept writing "RTS". After about 20 times, they got the message that they don't live there anymore.________new developments in Pattaya Edited September 9, 2011 by kevin3344
