valariecaudill
Has anyone had any experience in dealing with Asset Acceptance Corp? My ex-husband and I filed BR in 1997, but we "re-affirmed" a debt with Providian Bancorp. We, however, never made a payment to them. I saw the Providian fall off of my report a year ago, but Asset Acceptance showed up as a "New" debt in January 2007. I checked the SOL it is 7 years for Florida, I am trying to buy a home............Incidentally, I have DV'd twice, sent copies of the screen print they sent me with my name, address, and Providian account # along with copies of the original DV & the CRR to all three CRA's. At what point can I take them to court?
akins503
I got a call from these people 2 weeks ago for an old discover account. I told the lady on the phone i never heard of them and owe them zip. She immediately became enraged and isisted i knew about the account. I insisted i never heard of them and did not have any agreement with them. She then hung up on me. A couple days later it showed up on my reports. I dv'd them today.thats my experience so far
Broke
Yep, they did the same thing to me. I DV'd asset, they sent me a letter w\last activity date on it and I have written payment history from original creditor. I asked Asset, in writing, to fix this and they won't respond to my letters, so I'm going to sue. Would like to handle this outside court, but they won't resond to my letters. VonAngel (aka EarthAngel)
You may want to do a search for Asset. More than half of CIC members have had some dealings w/ them.
Bounce
I must have just been really lucky then, I DV'ed them and FOAD'ed them shortly afterwards, and they were gone within a matter of weeks. If only I could be so lucky with C1.
money bags
Were also dealing with Asset and dved them cmrrr and they responded once and not to anything that we asked for and then we dved them again and no responce, while we were waiting they put a negative on the credit reports so basically we are in the same boat. We live in Florida and the SOL is 4 years for credit cards not
