removing multiple or duplicate adverse items

Hello all: new to this site, but need assistance...

I have paid off some CA, and OC's but reviewed my CR and have found that for a single debt, now resolved, there are sometimes 2 or 3 items showing up on my reports. One debt, now resolved by payment to CA, is listed by OC, CA, and as public record due to judgement.

Should the CRB be listing only as one item for a single debt and not all three parties? how do I correct this.

You work with it like everything else - you start with DV to CAs, and go from there.

There is no different way to dispute paid or unpaid, duplicate, inaccurate - they all start the same. Follow the primer sticky.

Now, if it's the OC you need to work with, etc, there is other steps to take. Read up while you are waiting for your first line of attack to work.

No. If the account was sold/transferred/assigned to a collection agency, the CA may report a tradeline also. The original account should list a zero balance, dates which reflect their time of ownership and some notation of 'sold or transferred'. Each time the account transfers there can be a new TL for the same debt.

If someone sues you and is granted a judgment, this legal matter and the resulting Public Record is a separate listing (in the Public Records section of your CR) for the same debt. If the underlying debt for the judgment has been resolved then a Satisfaction of Judgment needs to be obtained and recorded at the same court location. The Satisfaction will show potential creditors that the matter has been resolved.
