someonesomewhere
Got deletes of 3 Chase accounts thru goodwilling. Chase sent a letter dated Feb 27, addressed to SWMBO and I, stating they had requested the Big Three to delete.EX and EQ deleted the TLs from both of our CRs within a couple of days. TU deleted the TLs from SWMBO's CR about the same time, but my TU CR still has the TLs.I sent a letter on Mar 15, and I got a reply today (dated Mar 21) stating, "our records show that the information you disputed does not currently appear on your TransUnion credit report."Bumped TU on TC today, and still no change.I can understand data transfers and what not causing a delay of a day, maybe. But a week.Just call TU in the morning, and politely ask why hasn't your product, TC, doesn't show the update?
SecretAgentWoman
That is funny, I also disputed a tradeline with TU, got a letter saying "it is not currently showing on your report" but it still clearly is showing, according to TrueCredit.I figured it was user error, or TC error...not sure which. I just figured at the end of a dispute, the CRAs are required to send you an updated CR anyway, and I'd see if it is physically listed there, and then figure my next course of action. I should get it any day now, I'll let you know.
someonesomewhere
On my first call to TU I was told, "Call back in my five minutes. My computer cannot update right now. I can enter in a dispute at that time." Duh. Like I said, TU already claims to have deleted the TLs. What's another dispute going to accomplish?Made a second call to TU, gave the rep the Account Names and Numbers. He confirmed they were deleted off my TU CR, and gave me the number for TC. Didn't wait the five minutes, so I presume the first rep was lying. I don't guess that ever happens, so this was a first. TrueCredit Customer Service800-493-2392Called and spoke with a rep there. She suggested updating my report. Told her I did, and I have been each day watching to see whether the change would come thru. Was on the call for 10-15 minutes. On hold a few times. Asked for a supervisor eventually, but none was available. Told me it might take 24 hours to update. Told her the letter from TU was dated Mar 21, so it's been at least 9 days assuming the deletion occurred the morning of the 21st. Probably been 12 days or more. Said the other bureaus deleted around Mar 1, so it's possible this has not been resolved for upwards of 30 days. Said I worked in IT, so I understood a day or two for data transfers to occur, but after 30 days it seems that something is wrong. Finally, gave me another number to call.TrueCredit Corporate866-212-2170This appears to be the Second Tier Call Center where they keep the people with brains. The telephone signal quality was better, and I wasn't talking to someone with a heavy accent in another country. I was stuck in "Please hold, all representatives are busy with other callers" H*ll for about 10 minutes. But once I got a Rep, he was able to think and speak clearly, and I got the info I needed from him quickly. Rep there said it's been marked for deletion with TU, but they haven't actually deleted yet. Huh? He asked about an online dispute I filed on Mar 5. Yeah, I disputed it online about that time because the other CRAs had already deleted several days before. I figured it had been missed, I would dispute it online, and TU would realize "Oh, Gee, we just got this in from the OC. We're supposed to delete." There were 5 or 6 things I disputed online. Well, until the investigation for ALL those disputed items are resolved, TU won't refresh the data it feeds to TC.I am now a graduate of Methuss' school of Do Not Dispute Online Except For Personal Info And Junk. But I am a little concerned this experience adds credence to the notion that one should dispute one and only one TL per dispute letter. TU is playing this little game with online disputes. Are they likely to try it with written disputes or are they smart enough to receive the letter and process the disputes individually?Time will tell. SecretAgentWoman
THANK you for sharing this story! I bet I did the same thing, accidently disputed twice, and I know the second time was online (with items that were coming off in a few months anyway, so I didn't care that they weren't written disputes). I feel good knowing it's going to come off eventually.I am now a graduate of Methuss' school of Do Not Dispute Online Except For Personal Info And Junk. *knods* Methuss is our leader...

someonesomewhere
Here are some goodwill letters that worked for me.http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showpost.php?p=746810&postcount=2Feel free to take 'em and use 'em, but don't copy 'em word for word. Personalize it. Make it real, or at least plausible.
Kat99
thanks for the samples, I will use them adjusting my words from my heart. However, I am still confused as to whom you send the goodwill letters to? For instance, Toyota has listed about 7 30 day lates from about a year and a half ago. I paid current for the next year and half and just recently paid off the loan balance as I purchased a new car. I want Toyota to remove the lates but dont know who at Toyota to send it to so I can get to someone who can do some action. Any advice on this? I also have 3 negatives that in total equal less than $500. All are TLs with CAs. I have disputed all 3 online so I will wait to see what happens. I will be reading, reading and reading in the interim so I will be prepared in the event they are not dropped. I think I can move forward with some goodwill ltrs now though. Your input is very appreciated and greatly needed. I am barely just learning to navigate through this website. I cannot even locate all my replies but am starting to get it a little. Anxiously awaiting input. thnx

Any advice on this? When you purchased a new car, was it a Toyota and/or did you finance thru TMCC (Toyota Motor Credit Corporation)? If yes, be sure to mention that. If you're a repeat customer, they are more likely to make money off of you in the future and so may be inclined to help you more.If you did not use TMCC, then leave that part out and don't even mention you bought another vehicle. But leave them with the belief that you may be in the market for another vehicle. I mean after all, no vehicle lasts forever so you are going to need another vehicle sooner or later. Saying it can make one believe it's sooner rather than later.According to their financials online, TMCC has about $62 billion in assets. I cannot see a goodwill letter to the CEO ever reaching him. I recommend sending the letter to the address listed on your CR, and use a greeting of Dear Madam or Sir on the letter. You want the letter to reach a working stiff. And send it with a 39 cent stamp. Do NOT send it CMRRR. You can't sue for not receiving goodwill, and the only reason to send something CMRRR when money or credit is involved is to build a papertrail for a lawsuit. The address on the CR is likely the folks who deal with credit issues. They are the ones likely to give a goodwill delete. Other folks in the organization, if asked, would probably wonder, "You cannot delete it from a credit report just because they ask. That's illegal. Isn't it?"It's not.I also have 3 negatives that in total equal less than $500. All are TLs with CAs.
