Zero
A CA was bothering me and I asked for proof of the debt. They sent only a computer printout of some charges. (It's for a supposed debt to an apartment company. I asked for a signed lease etc.)What should I do next?
MadinKS
Did you did this over the phone? Or mail? You should definitely get all the information from the CA in writing. Send them a DV letter asap. Make sure you send it CMRRR or some other way you can prove they received it. Have you read the Primer on Credit Repair? If not, go here and it will give you alot of answers. Good read. http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/forums/showthread.php?t=263069
unusualsuspect
I generally think that computer screen shots are not proof that the debt is yours.
IHateCAs
How would a copy of a signed lease prove the debt?
myscoresawful
How would a copy of a signed lease prove the debt?Since not all rental agencies do not require leases, it doesn't mean much if you are disputing rent owed for months that you actually lived there. If they are saying you owe rent for months *after* you moved out because you agreed to live there a certain amount of months, then moved out before those months were up, then they would need to provide you with a signed lease.
