stancil1
They had some info wrong on my TU file, Name, SSN, Address etc. Anyway, when I had them change some of the info, several good things happened, first, I picked up some good TL's of which I have no idea whom they belong to. I figure, why look a gift horse in the mouth right ? One of them though, is a Washington Mutual/Providian CC I think. It has an available 15000. limit of which 13661. is high credit and 13442. is current balance and is showing as never late and I am shown as an AU. I have another that is current and is a 600 high with a 0.00 balance. and an old auto loan from back in 2000. My FAKO is a 527 and these are the only revolving accts that I have showing and they are all showing as perfectly paid. So here's my question, should I dispute this one CC that's almost maxed out in an attempt to raise my FAKO or, leave well enough alone ?
willingtocope
IMHO, if it ain't yours, and you have no idea whose it might be...dispute it immediately. For the little bit of hike in your score, you've placed yourself at risk should whoever it belongs to decide to stop paying. (Yes, it is true that AU doesn't neccesarily mean liability...but...that won't stop the CAs from trying to collect). Furthermore, these things magically appearing almost certainly means they've screwed something up. No lasting good can come from this.
