Online dispute says already been investigated..

Recommended Posts

There's nothing in the statutes specifying how many times you may dispute a TL. However, § 611(a)(3) provides for the CRA to determine a dispute is either frivolous or irrelevant.

They must send you written notice that they have determined your dispute is frivolous, but those are their only legal options. Investigate or declare the dispute frivolous. There's really no middle ground.

By refusing to reinvestigate disputed TLs online, methinks they are skating into a gray zone and possibly a violation.

Some have received written responses from CRAs stating, "We've already investigated." I'm not a lawyer, but that strikes me as an admission of a violation.

I to have had this happen. When I disputed an account and try to re-dispute it after getting the answer verified and its still there. I get told that it has already been investigated. Then it just stays the same. I am assuming the best way is to do it again via reg mail.

yesss! this sucks! mostly with EXPERIAN im sure. My equifax was rid completely of negatives, next thing I knew my score was 743!! lol! it really was..crazy stuff. igot approved for 15,000 visa with us bank, 5000 with chase, home depot and few others.

now, with EXCRAPIAN, there are still about 8 "negative" items on my report. a judgement that NEVER HAPPENED! SERIOUSLY NEVER HAPPENED. nothing on record. i try to dispute it isays "already investigated, you can write us with new information at the number below".

it does it for all of the accounts. no matter what reason for dispute i select.

i KNOW that simply by disputing them, they wiLL BE DELETED! because they dont exist and i have taken care of them, or they are old, and will not be verified. i know it, it worked with TU and EQUFAX. but getting experian to do that is near impossible (online that is). I also do not want to contact the creditors for obvious reasons. "hey, you used to report a charge off on my record, and it was deleted from 2 of the 3 reporters, im trying to get it off the the 3rd, can you send a letter stating this account is not mine or in your system?" I MEAN REALLY! WHO DOES THAT??!!

im going to try sending cert/reg mail to them to diuspute. but i do not have any "new" information form the creditor. i will write in the letter that when i talk to them they tell me they do not find any record of me in their system, therefore there is no letter or report they can generate for me, if they did that for everyone it would take up too much resources, time, money, etc. so dispute it and it will come off that way. thats my plan.

wish me luck..i gotta get these experians negatives removed! seems like here in midwest, everyone chekcs experian!

Yet another reason NOT to dispute online--other than personal info.

Try MOV.

With a MOV when you call the OC can they harrass you for payment if you have an old CO account. I disputed a Discover CO that I have from almost 6 years ago. Twice it came back verified, Id be afraid to call Discover especially since it was never sold to a CA.

SOL in MI is 6 years, so you may wanna tread lightly. If you're close to the SOL being up, you may wanna wait until you know it's up.

If the SOL is up, and you don't wanna talk to them, you could try disputing with Discover in a letter.

I got an old account deleted by sending the OC a DV letter--this was before I knew ya can't DV an OC, only a CA. They might get worried seeing a DV letter and start thinking "nutcase, better to delete now. SOL is up anyway".

You might also try disputing with the CRA again. Tell 'em it's too old to be reported. Discover or the CRA might flub the math and delete.
