Darph Bobo
So I have TC and have checked my inquiries, but it doesn't seem like I have as many as other people. I am seeing reports of dozens per CRA, and I only have a few.Currently, I show EX - 4, EQ - 8 and TU - 3. Seems like a very small amount as compared to others. Is it possible I am missing something?2nd question, along the same lines. How old does an inquiry have to be before it does not affect your credit score? The reason for the questions is that I was 2 points off of getting my house refinanced, and I am wondering if dropping some of these off will get me the boost I need. I am seeing reports of dozens per CRA, and I only have a few.It all depends. I have EQ - 1, EX - 11, TU - 6. SWMBO has EQ - 0, EX - 5, TU - 4.Is it possible I am missing something?Could just mean you haven't applied for all that much credit compared to others. You may have Opted Out when others have not. Your bank and CC issuers might not ping your CR every 6 months to try and sell you something. How old does an inquiry have to be before it does not affect your credit score?731 days. The reason for the questions is that I was 2 points off of getting my house refinanced, and I am wondering if dropping some of these off will get me the boost I need.Do you know your FICO scores from MyFico? Not the scores from TC. Those are FAKOs.Even if could get ALL your inquiries deleted from all 3 CRAs, the effect would likely be very small, if any. Getting even one bad TL deleted or updated to a positive would go a lot further. Another month of on-time payments can make a difference. Keeping your CCs below 35% usage makes a big difference. itrev82
Clarifying question... You state that inquiries have to be 731 days to not affect any more. When I look at my MyFico report it appears to show that inquiries show on report for 2 yrs, but only affect the score for 1 yr. Is this correct? Or am I misreading the MyFico report?Just because TC shows I have a lot more inquiries then my MyFico report. And the ones MyFico list are only within the last year whereas TC is 2yrs. FICO will most definitely know more about what affects your score (since they are the creator) than a consumer would.Just because TC shows I have a lot more inquiries then my MyFico report. And the ones MyFico list are only within the last year whereas TC is 2yrs.Right. TC and your individual reports will show inquiries w/in the past 2yrs b/c that's how long they can be reported for. But as far as your FICO scores are concerned, only the hard inquiries w/in the past year will affect it.
