momof8
Here's the scene:AMEX account CO in 2005 with $1078 balanceI agreed to settle with AMEX ( 11/06 for $881.00, no time limit agreed to by me, but I didn't get it in writing (pre-CIC).Paid $375.00 (new balance of $496) and then AMEX yanked the rug out and sent me to Universal Fidelity. Got smart and found CIC and DV'd UF. They sent back to AMEX.AMEX demands full payment of $1078. I tell them I have no intention of paying them and that I would love to go to court with my bank statements showing that I had made payments to them in good faith until they jerked me around.AMEX comes back last week offering to settle for $567.00 due on April 27. settled for less than full balance.Should I pay this and end the ordeal? ANy other suggestions? Thanks all!JenMother of 8, master of none. )
astiman
Are you sure it was AMEX that came back or just some flunky CA claiming to be AMEX?
momof8
AMEX letterhead, payment to be sent to AMEX in St Loius. The previous effort was Universal Fidelity and they bolted after the DV letter.I imagine that it would be in my best interest to settle, since I can't afford to pay the entire balance right now. I was thinking of the PFD letter in return for a TL deletion of the CO. I feel like I'm flying by the set of my pants here. With settlement payment I'll have a CO settled for less than full amount.Jen
astiman
And, since AMEX blacklists, you will never get credit with them again....
