txsquirrel
This may be a crazy question. I have my dispute letters ready to send out to the credit agencies and am curious about the copy of ss card I've read to include. Will they accept my old card with my maiden name on it? I have one with my married name, but can't locate it. I really don't want to face the "wonderful" people at the SS office for a new one.
ZORG
All I have ever put on my DL's is my SS# I have not included any type of "photo copy" for identification. I have sent out nine DL's (three for each CA) and I have never been asked for any other type of ID. Anyone else?
sjokinley
When I tried to dispute with Equifax by mail, they wanted copies of my DL and SS card-then said that wasn't enough. I then called them on the phone and they just asked what TL's I wanted disputed, said thank you, and promptly disputed and deleted said accounts. SugarNspice
Ive never sent them in even though they asked for it when disputing and got a bunch of deletes anyways.
newbie7069
Just to answer your question, I never got a new SS card when I got married (I know...I know but now it's been over 10 yrs so what's the point?) I've never had any problem when including the original SS with my maiden name in any dispute.
Big Time
Supposedly, this is a stall tactic to give the CRA's more time to work on your file.I've gotten to where I send copies of my drivers liscense, SS card and electricity bill, but use FedEx in a thick cardboard envelope to reduce the chances of it getting lost and tack it online. This cuts their stall tactic off at the knees.
txsquirrel
This is my first dispute, so I'll send what I have. The items I'm disputing aren't huge, just a couple of lates and an account that I know isn't mine. I'm using this first one as a way to get my feet in the water. We'll see what happens with the ID. It probably just depends on who opens the envelope. Thanks
stancil1
All I have ever sent was a copy of my drivers license. I did list my SSN but never sent a copy of it.
