SugarNspice
I have a bunch of lates that I'm trying to remove from my CR. I disputed twice for my First Financial Bank cc and both times it came back "verified". I sent a letter asking them to prove that I was late on my payments because I dont recall being late and they are reporting inacurate negative information about me to the CRA. They then sent me 1 1/2 years of statements for each month dating back to 2003 showing that I was in fact late once in May 2003. I then sent a goodwill letter over a month ago and havent heard back. Should I just give up. What should I do next if they don't respond to my goodwill letters? Target hasnt responded either and Gap deleted all my lates (5 30 days 1 60 day) with the first letter I sent out. All my lates are awhile back. I dont think they will give me credit increases for those cards with lates on my account.
divemedic
One late that is over 4 years old isn't really hurting you.
argento05
Hi Sugar,I have used goodwill leters to my benefit. It depends on who you sent the letter to.In all of my goodwill requests I always went right to the top and would send the letters to the CEO/President of the company and the Vice-president, Sr VP, et who is responsible for the particular department that would be handling, say, accounts. The execs, unless they are complete as#%*$es, really try do do the right thing to help someone out. So get on the web, research the company, if it's a public company go to the investors page and look at the 10K, 8K etc to find out who the senior management team is and send 2, 3 or 4 letters to the right people. My guess is that one of them will help you.Good luck
SugarNspice
I know its an old late but it's the only Visa cc I have, the rest are all store cards. I'm trying for CL increases on all my cards. I just received a response to my goodwill letter "Federal law requires our institution to report accurate customer credit information to the credit reporting agencies" blah blah blah. Thats a bunch of bull. I'll try one more time to someone higher up.
