pinkeysas
I received a letter by mail earlier this week stating that I am a member of the "Class" in a suit agains Afni. Apparently someone is taking Afni to court and since i am one of the thousands of people that Afni has on some sort of list as owing them debts I am considered a member of the "Class". My question is. Should I still DV Afni as I was about to before getting this letter about the suit against them??
MadinKS
I just paid them! Can you please post the info so I can get involved? The only reason I paid them is because I have a security clearance investigation coming up and didn't want an unpaid collection. I want my $85 dollars back! pinkeysas
I don't think this is something that you can join because it is listed under the District court for the eastern district of Wisconsin Milwaukee Division. It states that members of the class are all natural persons in the state of Wisconsin who were sent a collection letter by AFNI.To be honest I don't think you'll get your money back. You should NEVER pay a CA. But if you have to again in the future be sure to FIRST get from them a WRITTEN statement stating that they will delete all TL's for the account on your CR's. MadinKS
Nope. That was the only one. They claimed I owed for Dish Network equip. that I sent back. Couldn't get around paying with the investigation in May. It does show a $0 balance though and I added a blistering statement to my CR's.

blondie813
I would absolutely still DV AFNI and dispute the TL with the CRAs. I am certain that whatever this class action suit involves it is not going to just make the debt disappear off your credit report. Go through the motions that you normally would just as if you had not received the suit information.
retmar
Most definitely handle your current situation as though this suit does not exist. Remember, they are seperate matters, and, if they lose, guess who will pay for this. That's right, you.
