SugarNspice
My DH was getting pretty confident with his scores and went to a car dealership. I'm not really sure what the deal is with guys and cars but he ended up applying for credit with no particular car in mind. This was early January and he still has applications being submitted. The last one was March 28, 2007 which totals out to 19 inquiries within a 3 month period. He has a FA on his CR and yet they still keep forwarding his application. He called the dealership and they denied sending it to anywhere else but meade lexus. We have also tried disputing with the CRA and havent been able to get anywhere. We were told to send out letters to each individual creditor so I started out writing letters to each creditor but was just getting responses that they received the application from the previous creditor. They just keep passing it along to the next one. Its like a never ending cycle. This should be illegal. Any suggestions on what to do next? I've been bumping for a couple weeks now to no avail. Some have reported success writing EX, ATTN: FRAUD DEPARTMENT, and getting inquiries deleted. You could give it a try with both EX and TU. direred
The catch is, unless he revoked his authorization, he probably signed one that gave them permissible purpose to find him financing.

lyle7289
The catch is, unless he revoked his authorization, he probably signed one that gave them permissible purpose to find him financing. This is true.. Especially if it is "alternative financing" I would get a copy of what he signed from MEADE. They are asshOles there so excpect a problem. Make sure to DEMAND a copy as it is your RIGHT.from there, if there is no cause for these inquiries, I would send an "unauthorized Inquiry" letter to each one. The address should be listed under the inquiry section of your CR's as well as your monitoring services. They should disappear. I would also dispute the EQ inquiries (do a search for removal of inquiries in 24hrs, Earth Angel has a great step by step thread)Hope everything works out!!
