pinkeysas
I was just on Experians website about to submit an online dispute.I chose the reason of "don't recognize".I just had to come here and get a pep talk on if I am doing the right thing. The CA accounts I am looking to dispute are 3 -4 years old. I need them gone or paid (with PFD) soon, cause i'm hoping to buy a home this year.I can pay them if they come back verified but who wouldn't want to try and see if they fall off by disputing first right?I have heard bad things about doing online disputes, but I don't plan on sueing the CRA's cause if the debts are verified i will then just pay them. So, what I was about to do is dispute the CA accounts one by one claiming that all are not mine or "don't recognize". Then wait 30 days for response from CRA's. And if verified sent the CA's PFD letters.Does that sound okay????Someone give me a SWIFT KICK IN THE a$$ or tell me if something I was going to do is wrong. divemedic
Dispute is OK, but hold off on the PFD stuff. See what shakes out first.
mzsyd
Don't get discourage! I was starting to get discourage but I have seen results. I am also planning to clean up my mess in order to buy a house by next year as well. Sometimes it takes serveral attempts to dispute before you get a delete..just hope they don't reinsert! Good luck. pinkeysas
Thanks Divemedic. And MzsydI've been reading over your revised primer a lot trying to get it to sink in. One question I have is pertaining to this part of the Primer:Next, after the initial investigations are complete, look at the now verified tradelines. Are there any discrepancies? Do they all agree with each other? Or does your EX report show a $100 charge off, while your EQ shows a $110? If any do not match, that is good for you. The FCRA requires that all tradelines be “complete and accurate” and how can they be accurate, if they don’t even match each other? Legal leverage, to be used later. Now, if one of the CA's showing up on all 3 of my CR's is listed as $134 on EX and TU, but listed as $135 on EQU. SHould I still use a dispute reason of "dont recognize" for my first round of disputing and then if it's verified come back at them with a 2nd dispute of "wrong amounts" or whatever choice they give pertaining to that issue?Or should I start by disputing for that reason right away?ALSO, I SHOULD MENTION THESE ARE UNPAID COLLECTIONS.Thanks again for your help. divemedic
I always use "Information has obvious discrepancies. Please verify all information on tradeline" I just type that into the little box.
pinkeysas
"Information has obvious discrepancies. Please verify all information on tradeline"Alright, So i should add that Phrase in the little box for ALL disputes or just the one that I noticed shows the discrepency?? Also, when I hit the submit button on my dispute just a moment ago with Equifax online. It gave me this:Confirm the information below. If you know whom the account belongs to, enter the name in the box. If you have already entered information in the box, be sure to enter the name below the text you already entered. If you believe that information appears on your report as a result of fraud or if you think another person's information may have merged with your information, then it is important that you call us for assistance with your disputes.Im supposed to enter MY NAME? But I'm disputing because I don't "think" the accout belongs to me.Sorry for all the questions but thanks for the help.

keith
What type of accounts are they? What are the sol's on this debt in your state? Also, even though you do not plan on sueing anyone, depending on how things go, at some point that may be an option or your only remedy. In other words, do not take any shortcuts that could come back to haunt you. Attorneys love a client that has good documentation. It's like having an umbrella with you, chances of rain go down. I hope that analogy makes sense. Also, a 'cmrrr' letter isn't that expensive. Plus you can address all of your disputes at once. I have also heard of language in the online dispute that could force you to arbitration instead of being able to file a lawsuit if need be. divemedic
I use it for all. If they want you to accept ownership in order to dispute, do it by phone. Tell them you think the TL is inaccurate.
